What is the optimal keyword density and how do I calculate the keyword density of my webpage?
To calculate keyword density, open the webpage in your web browser and right click on the mouse and use the "select all" option. Copy and paste the text on the webpage to a text editor like Microsoft Word. Select "Tools" on the menu bar and then select the "Word Count" option to get the count of total words displayed. Record this number to use later. Next, run a find and replace, by selecting "Replace", typically under "Edit" on the menu bar. Type your keyword phrase in both the find and replace fields, then select "Replace All". This will search for your keyword phrase and replace it with your keyword phrase entered in the "Replace" text box. The program will then tell you how many times the keyword was replaced. Divide the keyword replaced count by the total amount of words on the page; this is your keyword density. If your keyword replaced count was 2 and there are 100 words on the page, then your keyword density ratio is 2 %.You should aim for a keyword density of 1-3% or else you may face the risk of keyword stuffing. |
