2: Hinge Cover

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the three (3) screws that are holding the hinge cover in place. Put these screws in a safe place so that they don’t get lost.

Carefully begin to pry the hinge away from the laptop. Starting from one side and moving to the other side once the hinge cover starts to come loose. You may have to help pry the hinge cover off from the backside of the laptop.

Once you have both sides of the hinge cover pried up, slowly remove the hinge cover. Once the hinge cover is removed, the inverter, which provides power to the LCD screen, will be exposed.
