6: Video Cable

This picture shows the back of the LCD screen. There will be two electronic connections that you will have to disconnect: the video (data) cable, and the inverter (power) cable. Note that the video cable may be taped to the back of the LCD screen, or to the laptop shell, and can be fragile, so take care to remove this tape from the LCD / shell while working (you may leave it on the data cable).

Usually there is a piece of tape * securing the connection of the video cable to the LCD screen itself. If so, carefully remove it. Carefully pull the video cable downward and slide it out of the connecting port.

* Some Dell notebook models will not use tape and instead will have clips on either side of the video cable connector.
