6: Video Cable

In these pictures you can see the back of the LCD screen. You'll now need to disconnect the video cable, sometimes referred to as the data cable. Note that the video cable may be taped to the back of the LCD screen, or to the laptop shell. It's often fragile so take care to remove any tape from the LCD / shell while working (you may leave it on the data cable).

On the connection between the video cable and its port on the lcd screen, Dell laptops usually have clips holding it in place. Other laptop makers tend to use a piece of tape to hold it in. Carefully pull the video cable downward relative to the LCD and slide it out of the connecting port.

In the laptop shown, the video cable is connected in two places, and needs to be disconnected from both.
