Diagram #1 Open and inspect your laptop. The LCD screen is a very thin device - only a few milimeters thick - held in place by a metal frame within the laptop, and a plastic shell on the outside. The plastic assembly of an Apple iBook is held in place by a handful of allen screws (screws with a hexagonal hole within the head). Also note the latch mechanism. For most other laptop brands, there are small philips screws underneath screw covers, instead of visible allen screws. |
